LA § 5:8 Flight of the defendant
State: Louisiana
Louisiana Criminal Jury Instructions (2017)
§5:8 Flight of the defendant
If you find that the defendant fled immediately after a crime was committed or after he [she] was accused of a crime, the flight alone is not sufficient to prove that the defendant is guilty. However, flight may be considered along with all other evidence. You must decide whether such flight was due to consciousness of guilt or to other reasons unrelated to guilt.
